Our journey, your facts.

Welcome to Forward With Facts, where our mission is to empower families with clear, factual information. Our journey began with a simple need: a factual, neutral resource for my neurodivergent child to understand their body and the world around him. Unable to find it, I created 'Your Body, Your Life.' This project grew into Forward With Facts, a name reflecting our commitment to transparent, straightforward guidance. Join us as we explore life's essential topics with confidence and clarity.

The spark behind the story

The inspiration for 'Your Body, Your Life: Book 1' arose from a very personal place. My child, naturally inquisitive and neurodivergent, had many questions about their body. I sought a resource that was factual, non-graphic, not 'too wordy,' and allowed for flexible reading. Something could be picked up and put down in 1 minute, 5 minutes, or 30 minutes and come back to later, without long clinical terminology. When I couldn't find a book that met these specific needs, I decided to write one myself, initially just for my child. After others saw the copy and recognized its unique value, I was encouraged to publish it, leading to the birth of Forward With Facts and this essential series.

Beyond the body: book 2

Our commitment to practical, factual knowledge extends beyond physical development. I'm currently developing 'Your Body, Your Life: Book 2,' which will focus on 'life' and the basics of 'adulting.' This idea stemmed from conversations with some younger adult family members, and their friends, who often found themselves navigating complex real-world situations without foundational knowledge. Book 2 will cover essential life skills like budgeting, utilities, buying a car, understanding credit, tax basics, renting, contracts, insurance and even basic parental responsibilities, ensuring young adults are well-equipped for the challenges ahead.

What makes us unique?

'Your Body, Your Life' stands apart by offering a non-clinical, modular approach to sensitive topics. It integrates social-emotional skills, providing a comprehensive guide starting with pre-puberty, then puberty, anatomy, reproduction, sex, consent, boundaries, and self-advocacy. It is presented factually, neutrally, and without graphic content. Written by an everyday parent, it avoids overly academic language, making it accessible for neurodivergent children and younger audiences. Its simple illustrations and limited text per page ensure it's not visually chaotic or overwhelming, and allows families to easily insert their own values into discussions.

"Confident conversations, educated decisions."

At Forward With Facts, we want families to feel confident and educated as they navigate important discussions. Our books aim to foster mutual understanding, helping kids understand themselves and each other, realizing our shared humanity. We empower parents to explain appropriate behaviors by framing boundaries within the context of how the brain develops and processes information. Most importantly, we emphasize that while families hold diverse values, understanding these sensitive topics factually can lead to open, respectful dialogue and informed choices for every child.
